Blackburn Starling has over 50 years experience in manufacturing small bespoke control panels from the first instrument control panels in the 1960s to the incorporation of PLCs in the 1980s. Today the company has established itself as an industry recognised manufacturer integrating leading international supplier’s equipment including Siemens, Rockwell & Mitsubishi amongst its portfolio.
PLC control panels are usually constructed to Form 2b and are built in accordance with IEC 61439-2:2011 and ISO 9001:2008 standards. The panels can be floor standing, wall mounted, supplied as individual standalone units or as part of a motor control centre. Control panels are usually front access with top and/or bottom cable entry, however each system is designed in accordance with individual customer requirements/project specifications and any variation can be accommodated.
Blackburn Starling has full in-house metal fabrication facilities allowing the company the flexibility to manufacture bespoke custom built panels to specific customer specifications and to fast track the design and manufacture of equipment to meet required deadlines.
Blackburn Starling has been instrumental in the development of intelligent control equipment with many customers, assisting them in developing systems to fit within their overall control philosophy/strategy. In the 1970s early control panels utilised hard wired relay logic systems whereas today many systems now incorporate “communication network systems” such as Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, ASi, Modbus RTU and other similar systems.
