The use of fossil fuels in global transportation systems is unsustainable, unviable and effectively driving the destruction of our planet. So, it’s crucial to make significant in-roads into the development of greener, safer solutions.
To meet this challenge we were engaged to design, manufacture and install the Main Power Switchboard, Sub-Distribution Panels and over 150 bespoke Laboratory Testing Desks for the University of Nottingham Propulsion Test Facility a brand new £13M state-of-the-art facility to meet the needs of a low-carbon future.
All of the equipment was developed in a truly open and honest collaborative environment to deliver a bespoke solution for a unique project. We designed and manufactured prototypes of the desks to allow for design feedback and modifications before we manufactured the complete suits of desks. By having the client on our doorstep we were able to operate an open door policy throughout the project lifecycle despite challenging times.
The main switchboard was designed to incorporate safety interlocks to allow for any one of the eight separate Test Cells to be isolated whilst continuing to provide power to all of the other cells. This design was the key requirement for the project to ensure that multiple future projects can be simultaneously Tested and sensitive Experiments carried out in a safe environment to develop solutions delivering a cleaner future for our environment and people in generations to come.
