Due to continued expansion at Blackburn Starling an opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to take ownership and responsibility for the life cycle of their projects from handover from the sales / estimating team through to completion and final accounts, successfully delivering projects ranging in size.
The job holder will report to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
To take a lead role in allocated projects, ensuring all of the Low Voltage Switchboards and Motor Control centre design elements and procurement of materials are completed in a timely manner and to the agreed timescales, whilst taking responsibility for associated product conformity requirements and commercial performance in line with company targets.
To co-ordinate the efforts of other disciplines in delivering projects.
To provide technical assistance and guidance on projects both pre and post sales. Assist our tendering department with the generation of tenders and technical proposals as necessary including technical reviews of estimates, proposals completed by other engineers.
To evaluate any project early warnings and compensation events notifying the Operations Director of any significant commercial, technical or contractual risks associated with them.
The ability to interact in a professional manner with senior representatives of our clients
To ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental and quality systems.
Qualifications
An industry applicable ONC/HNC/BEng or NVQ equivalent
Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
CSCS/ ECS card

H&S qualifications
Demonstrable experience of working within the water industry.
Ability to work in a busy manufacturing environment and to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines
Excellent communication skills
